Chosen family flag

Chosen Family is a group of individuals who, based on emotional closeness, deliberately choose one another to play significant roles in each other’s lives and consider each other family even though they are not biologically or legally related.[1] It's an adopted term by aromantic community and other queer individuals experiencing parental or familial attraction,[2] useful in queerplatonic parenting.[3]

Flag

The flag was coined by beyond-mogai-pride-flags on December 6th, 2019. The brown represents siblinghood, alluding to brother bear, the light red represents familial love, the yellow and pink represents queerplatonic relationships, purple represents other people within the LGBTQ+ community, and dark blue represents allies who also have chosen families.
