Pronunciation
Definitions
- A cusper feels like they are on the “cusp”, as it were, of being a gender-nonconforming cis person and a transgender person. Examples are partially transitioned people who choose to go no further, people comfortable with she/him pronouns, and people who identify as both [a man] and [a woman] in different social contexts. This term was popularized by TERFs, but has since been considered reclaimed by the MOGAI community at large. - idvault[1]
This identification is wildly up to the person identifying as it, and can be a kind of Midgender. Cuspers can transition partially and be known as either gender in different contexts, such as being a man outside of the house but being someone's girlfriend inside.
It is not clearly defined who can identify as a Cusper, but it's an open term that people can identify as.
History
The term was taken back from TERFs, though some people might still be uncomfortable with the term.
