Diamoric

Diamoric.png

Diamoric (formerly called Dionysian) is a word for an orientation, attraction, or relationship that involves at least one Nonbinary person. Either as an orientation for Nonbinary people who's attraction does not fit into the similar/opposite dichotomy due to being a uniquely Nonbinary experience, or as a relationship descriptor for which one or more of the people involved are Nonbinary.

Diamoric can be an orientation on its own or it can be used as an umbrella term to describe a variety of Nonbinary attraction.

Etymology

Diamoric comes from the Greek prefix Dia- meaning "passing through" or "going apart" and the Latin word amor, meaning "love".

Diamoric was originally called Dionysian, from Dionysus who was historically associated with gender variance. It was then renamed (and changed from a flag featuring grapes) due to Dionysus being the God of wine and being associated with alcohol, violence, and sex making people uncomfortable.
