Alternate garnetic flag.

Garnetic is a xyric orientation that refers to a xenic individual who is exclusively attracted to women and non-binary individuals. One may or may not have a preference. It can be abbreviated to XLW (Xenic Loving Women) and XLNB (Xenic Loving Nonbinary).

The masculine/neutral counterpart to garnetic is lazulic, and the neutral/xenic counterpart is pyretic.

History and Flag

Garnetic and its flag were coined by Tumblr user mourningmogaicrew on August 22nd, 2021. They are both based off the mineral garnet. The yellow stripe in the flag comes from the xyric flag. [1]

An alternate flag was created by Fandom user Sad.card.trick on August 23, 2021 (who also lied and claimed to be the original coiner of the term after changing the definition). The first stripe represents femininity. The second signifies attraction to feminine genders. The third stripe represents the complexity of gender identity. The fourth stripe depicts attraction to neutral genders. The fifth stripe illustrates androgyny. The symbols on the flag are (from left to right), the female symbol, the xenogender symbol, and the non-binary symbol.

Etymology

Garnetic comes from the gemstone "garnet," which originates from medieval Latin "granatus" which is also where we get "pomegranate" because the stone looks like the pulp of the fruit.[2]
