Gender Non-Conforming

Gender Non-Conforming (Also called GNC, Gender Variant) is a term for someone with a Presentation that in some way, does not match the societal expectation of them. Many GNC people are transgender or non-binary, however there are also many cisgender people who are gender non-conforming.

Possible examples of gender non-conformity include, but are not limited to:

  • A cis woman who presents masculinely.
  • A trans man who presents androgynously.
  • A non-binary person who presents femininely.

Gender Non-Conformity generally centers around actually appearance. For example, haircut, style of garments, presence of cosmetics as well as presence of beard growth and additionally body hair, and so forth, however it can also incorporate other characteristics such as having certain character qualities or interests, having certain callings, or utilizing certain pronouns.
