Iocuspronominal

Iocuspronominal is a kind of pronoun collecting that describes someone who collects pronoun sets more for the fun of it than anything else. These pronouns may not be their preferred pronouns, but may be validating and fun to hear once in a while. They may feel a slight disconnect between their collected pronouns and preferred pronouns, though they are still comfortable with these collected pronouns. They are not collected out of indecision, or in some cases not even to be used: pronouns are collected simply because they like the pronouns and somewhat identify with them. These pronouns are often not listed or discussed when questions about pronouns are asked.

This term was made with panpronomial people in mind, however anyone can use this label.

History and flag

Iocuspronomial was coined by FANDOM user Ringotheman on June 13th, 2021. He wanted a label to describe his own relationship with pronouns.[1]

The flag was made by wiki user honk4bees on June 23rd, 2021, in the style of various other pronoun flags, using bright colors to represent the light-hearted nature of having iocuspronouns.

Etymology

Iocuspronominal was named after the Latin word "Iocus" which means "fun".
