This is significantly different from having pedophilic OCD, as in POCD, the person is afflicted by disgust of their thoughts.

Origin
The term MAP in this context was created as part of an anti-LGBTQ+ hoax from 4chan, but after being popularized, spread to such an extent that actual pedophiles began to earnestly use the term.
Alternate Names
- Pedophile
- Hebephile
Definitions
- MAP stands for Minor Attracted Person, and NOMAP stands for Non-Offending Minor Attracted Person. Someone who is "Non-Offending" does not go out of their way to consume child pronography, or try to form romantic/sexual relationships with minors. - DNidefinitions.carrd.co, 2021[1]
Established Issues
Pedophila is extremely harmful to it's victims, being prevalent in causing mental illness.[2] Additionally, terms like MAP and it's variants harm LGBTQ+ people especially by making people believe that LGBTQ+ people may genuinely consider pedophiles part of the community. MAPs and variants who affirm that fictional pedophilia doesn't harm anyone ignore psychology and open pathways to grooming.

NoMAP
- NOMAP stands for Non-Offending Minor Attracted Person. Someone who is "Non-Offending" does not go out of their way to consume child pronography, or try to form romantic/sexual relationships with minors. -DNidefinitions.carrd.co, 2021[1]
Pro-Shipper
- Anti-Antis (Also referred to as Proshippers) are people who believe that they can ship incestuous/pedophilic/abusive relationships, because it's "just fiction". These people commonly use the excuse that their ships are "just fiction" to glorify and push away the fact that their ships are commonly incestuous, pedophilic, and/or abusive. They tend to ship adoptive/fostered family members together since "they're not blood related", or a minor with an alien/incredibly old/immortal being (such as someone of another species which lives longer than humans/has a different perception of age as humans, or some kind of god/divine entity/alien with no known or confirmed age). The reason they're called Anti-Antis is due to the fact that they call people who disagree with their ship tastes "Antis", meaning that they are against or "anti" their ships. - DNidefinitions.carrd.co, 2021[1]
Pro-shippers (also phrased pro ship, antianti, anti harassment or FAIA) are similar to noMAPs in that they consume (writing, drawing, endorsing, etc) media that contains sexualized children and sexual assault, excusing this because the media is just fiction. They are especially prone to harassing[4] minors.[5]
Shihoko Fujiwara runs Lighthouse, a nonprofit for exploited children. She told CNN she once worked on a case where a predator used a cartoon to convince a child that sex abuse was normal. "So the pedophiles might bring the animation and say 'this is how you practice with adults,'" she said. - Sexually explicit Japan manga[6] evades new laws on child pornography
