Myrromantic is a romantic orientation for those who experience multiple Aro-spec identities. These identities could be experienced simultaneously at the same time or the Myrromantic person could shift between them.

An example of a Myrromantic person experiencing one's identities simultaneously is someone who could very rarely feel romantic attraction (Greyromantic), and when they do feel it it's only to people they don't have a strong connection with, (Frayromantic), but they still desire or seek out a romantic relationship (Cupioromantic).

Etymology

The origin of "Myr-" is not mentioned in the original coining post, but it is possible that it is short for "myriad", a word for which Merrium-Webster gives the following definitions[1]:

noun

  • ten thousand
  • a great number

adjective

  • innumerable
  • both numerous and diverse
  • having innumerable aspects or elements

History

Flags

The Pride-Flags-For-Us coining post also included its first flag. The multiple shades of green represent the various orientations and experiences in the Aromantic Spectrum. White represents the Aro people who may experience some level of romantic attraction. Grey represents Greyromantics and those with similar experiences to them. Black represents a lack of attraction.

On April 9, 2021, Wikia user Unfunny person420 uploaded their own version of the Myrromantic flag directly to the LGBTA Wiki[3]. It has the same colors as the original but the stripes are rearranged, giving it a more symmetrical appearance.

Another alternate Myrromantic flag was created and uploaded directly to the LGBTA Wiki on May 18, 2021 by Wikia user Fruitindividual,[4] who also credited user PhysicsAndPuns in its creation. This flag has a soft green base color that is a combination of all of the colors of the Aromantic flag to symbolize a combined experience. The symbol in the center also represents the feeling of simultaneous experience; the arrow has three bases to symbolize multiple orientations, and a single head to represent a collective experience.[5]

A simplified Myrromantic flag was uploaded directly on the LGBTA Wiki by user rythmsandcat on June 11, 2021.[6] The flag was based on the original one while removing two of the green stripes, leaving the flag with a total of only five stripes.
