Sex-Ambivalent (also called Sex-Conflicted, Sex-Complicated, Sex-Fluctuate) is a term for people who's feelings toward sex is complicated, more flexible/fluctuating, or not easily fit into favourable, indifferent, repulsed, or averse. Most commonly used by Asexual/Ace-spec individuals.

Sex-Ambivalence can take many different forms. Common examples of Sex-Ambivalence include:

  • One's feelings about sex change frequently, so that they might be favorable or indifferent one day and then repulsed the next day.
  • Their feelings about sex might change based upon the situation. For example, someone might be normally Sex-Indifferent, but if they're in a relationship where their partner is sexually attracted to them, they might feel Sex-Favorable. The opposite might happen as well, in which someone could feel Sex-Favorable or indifferent normally, but if their partner is sexually attracted to them, they might feel Sex-Repulsed.
  • They may be favorable towards certain sexual acts, but repulsed by other common sexual acts.

Some people use Sex-Ambivalent and Sex-Indifferent interchangably, but to many these are distinct experiences. Sex-Indifferent specifically refers indifference regarding sex.

Not all Sex-Ambivalent people are Asexual. There are people who are Allosexual and Sex-Ambivalent.
