Sopaipilla is a spanish word used in Chile with a variety of meanings. One of them to refer to lesbians. [1]
Pronunciation
"Soh-pah-ee-pee-yah".
Etymology
The word sopaipilla is more often used to describe a type of quick bread eaten in Chile. Other types of breads and fried doughs have also made a semantic jump to mean lesbian, such as tortillera and arepera in other Spanish speaking countries. [1] This comes from the fact that fried dough needs to be "turned around", coming from the same standpoint that originated words like "Invert" to mean homosexual.
