Paragender is a gender in which one is mostly a given gender, but not entirely due to being slightly another gender. It is similar to demigender, but is more specific as in paragender the majority gender outweighs the other gender(s).The majority gender can be any gender and takes up between 51-99% of one's total gender. The minority gender can be any gender or combination of genders, but is most commonly reported as agender, and takes up 1-49% of one's gender.

Paragender on it's own can have a few different definitions:
# An umbrella term for genders such as paragirl and paraboy. The para- prefix can be added to any gender to indicated the paragender version of that gender.
# The non-binary equivalent of paragirl and paraboy. This could also be called paranonbinary, but the generic term paragender is more commonly used.
# Someone who is most connected to the concept of gender (in general) but not fully.
The term paragender was coined by Tumblr user queerspike some time around July 10, 2014, but presumably before[[Paragender#cite%20note-1|[1]]]. The paranonbinary/paragender flag was created by the Tumblr blog Pridearchive on July 24, 2014[[Paragender#cite%20note-2|[2]]]. Gray represents partial gender. White represents a lack of gender. Yellow represents non-binary genders. Green is close to yellow on the color wheel, representing the “near-ness” of paragender.
Etymology
Para- comes from the Greek prefix meaning 'beside' or 'near'.
