The tangender flag.
The original tan- gender flag.
The alternate tangender flag.
Tangender is a geometric mathgender that feels like a singular gender felt with the utmost certainty but occasionally flowing away or beyond what is typical of said gender. Tangender is inspired by both the tangent function graph and the concept of a tangent line in trigonometry.
History and Flag
The term was created by Tumblr user nonbinarybumblebee on July 15, 2014.[1]
The first tangender flags were tangirl, tanboy, and tannonbinary flags.[2]. However, the first tangender flag was created by Tumblr user beyond-mogai-pride-flags on February 24, 2019.[3]
The alternate tangender flag was created by Tumblr user gender-resource on April 15, 2020.[4] The pallet of the alternate flag was created by drawing a tangent function through the color spectrum between yellow and purple, two colors associated with non-binary genders.
