Viade

The viade flag.

Viade is an identity similar to gai. It is derived from viado and viada, words used in Brazil that has a similar connotation to f*ggot in the United States or queer in some ways. Viade is a term for everyone that considers their attraction and/or identity viade, including (but not limited to) people who want to express their non-binary identity and non-straight attraction in this way.[1] It is not exclusive to Brazilians/Lusophones.

Its strayt counterpart is hetere/hetre.[2]

Flag

The flag was created by Tumblr user oltiel on June 10, 2018.[3] The orange asterisk is from the nonbinary symbol, and it represents the non-binary nature of this identity. The color orange represents individuality. Therefore, this symbol represents one’s own strength and reaffirmation of viade attraction. The pink stripe represents attraction to genders/identities related to femininity. The purple stripe represents attraction to genders/identities related to androgyny. The blue stripe represents attraction to genders/identities related to masculinity. The green stripe represents attraction to genders/identities related to neutrality. The yellow stripe represents attraction to genders/identities related to anything else (undefined qualities, xeninity, maveriquinity, in-between others on the list, etc.).
